UP Ministries

These ministries support our gathered worship at Calvary. As such, they are focused around our worship service schedule: Sunday morning and also Saturday evening.

The buttons under each ministry description will open a simple form for you to register your interest in finding out more - submit the form (for as many people in your household who are interested) and someone in leadership of that ministry will reach out to you.

Hosts for Worship

Hosts welcome those arriving for worship, assisting in any way that is helpful. They facilitate collecting the offering and usher people forward for communion.

Welcome & Information Desk

If Hosts greet people on the way in to worship, then the Welcome & Info Desk Team are here to connect and answer questions after worship. This is a brand new ministry we are hoping to launch soon.

Occasional Choir

Five or Six times per year, a four-part harmony choir accompanies special worship services and performs anthems.

Great Hall Music Ministry

Most Sundays consist of contemporary worship music led by a band (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, vocals). Additional instruments and vocal ensembles join occasionally.

Altar Guild

Every worship service at Calvary includes Holy Communion. Prior to each worship service, the Altar Guild prepares everything needed for communion: the plates, chalices, bread & wine, etc., and cleans up after.

Acolytes

Acolytes assist the clergy in the practical side of worship services: carrying the cross, setting up for communion, etc.

Readers

We love Scripture at Calvary and every worship service has 4 readings (typically Old Testament, Psalm, Epistle, Gospel). Readers (or “Lectors”) practice beforehand and then read these scriptures in worship.
