Need Help?

The Food Shelf is open during our construction project!

We offer a number of resources (listed below) for those who reside in the 80401 and 80403 Golden area ZIP codes. Our office is open from 9:30am to 5pm, Monday through Thursday. Please bring an ID and a bill or piece of mail that lists your name and current address. There is no cost associated with these resources. We do not discriminate in the provision of service against any person and all those seeking assistance will be treated with the utmost of respect and courtesy. You may park in one of the designated spaces by the 14th Street door and walk down the sidewalk to the office, or find a parking space on 13th Street or Arapahoe street and walk up the sidewalk to the office.

Calvary Food Shelf

The Calvary Food Shelf provides bags of shelf stable food and a variety of fresh food items. Golden residents are eligible to access the Shelf once a month (approximately every 30 days) and should bring their ID and a piece of mail with their name/current address as proof of residency the first time they come in. Non-residents may access it one time only. Assistance with getting food bags to your vehicle is available.

We also maintain a list of other local resources for food, which is located here (updated February 2019).

Golden Rescue Fund (GRF)

We house this local resource and offer referrals for assistance with prescriptions, gas cards, bus tickets, food and grocery gift cards. Golden residents are eligible to access the GRF once every 6 months. Non-residents may access the GRF one time only.

The Salvation Army

We house the Golden Service Extension Unit for The Salvation Army, which offers assistance to Golden residents needing help with rent, utility or medical bills, and prescriptions. To see if you qualify and to schedule an appointment, please call 303-279-2188.
