Outreach

Calvary has a long history of involvement
in the community of Golden and beyond
We invite your participation in any of the following outreach ministries.

St. Francis Center
Volunteers serve at this day shelter for the homeless during the week, and on the fourth Sunday morning of each month. We also provide a wide variety of donations on a regular basis.

SHARE
Calvary has served as a host site for this ministry for over 17 years. Participants register and pay for packages of high quality food at a reduced rate, and give volunteer service to the community on a monthly basis.

Golden Rescue Fund
The fund provides emergency response for those traveling through our community who find themselves in need.

Golden Christian Action Guild & Jeffco Action Center
Monthly monetary donations, as well as offerings of food, clothing and other items, are given to assist local individuals and families in need.

Warm Welcome
Trained volunteers visit families with newborns to welcome them into the community and provide resource information and a gift.

Calvary Food Shelf
Members of our congregation donate food on a weekly basis, which is then given to individuals and families needing this type of assistance.

The Salvation Army,
Golden Service Extension Unit (SEU)
Members of Calvary serve on the Golden SEU Committee, and a large number of parishioners ring bells each year to raise funds for the budget. The money raised stays in Golden to provide emergency assistance for rent, utilities and prescriptions.

Habitat for Humanity
We work with several other churches to build homes in the Denver metro area. We also help raise funds to purchase materials.

The Diocese of Malawi and
Colorado Haiti Project
We provide monthly monetary support for the work being done by the Church in these countries. We also sponsor a yearly mission trip to Southern Malawi to bring resources and help with ongoing building projects.

Interfaith Hospitality Network
Calvary works with other churches to assist in preparing meals for temporarily homeless families who stay in Golden on a rotating basis.

Golden Family of Churches Health Ministries
Calvary works with other churches in Golden and local Parish Nurses to plan and implement different health-related programs in the community including: support groups, a yearly health fair, blood drives and the publishing of a resource directory.
