150th Anniversary Celebrations

Calvary was founded in 1867, just 8 years after the town of Golden was established. This year, 2017, we celebrate our 150th anniversary. To celebrate our sesquicentennial birthday, we are having the following events. We have also created a few brochures that explain some highlights from our last 150 years.

All-Church Worship

On Sunday, September 24 we will combine our normal weekend services into a single, church-wide service. Plan to gather in the Great Hall at 10:30 to worship with the whole Calvary family, to praise God for his providence throughout our history, and pray for his continued blessing for many years to come.

The 5pm Saturday service will still take place.

Anniversary Hoedown

Our main celebration event will take place on Sunday, September 24 at 4pm in the Great Hall. We will gather with Calvary members and friends from Golden for food, dancing, and a program celebrating our 150 year history.

Sunday Parking Options

There are a number of street closures in downtown Golden on Sunday 9/24 due to the Golden Gallop 5k/10k. It is our understanding that all street parking will be open after 10am, regardless of what signs say, and that all streets will reopen by 10am. However, in the event that it is difficult to find parking, we have made arrangements for additional parking in a few locations:

  • There are 10 spaces available outside Earth Sweet Botanicals, on the northwest corner of the intersection of Arapahoe St. and 13th St. To use these spots, please pick up a dash flyer from a host outside the Great Hall.
  • Colorado School of Mines has opened any of the blue or yellow parking lots indicated on this map.

If you need a paper copy of the Mines map on Sunday morning, hosts will be available outside the Great Hall (at the corner of 14th and Arapahoe) to assist you.
