EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES
Sunday School for all
ages
SUNDAY MORNING ADULT CLASS :
Beginning January 10th those reading through the Bible in 90 Days will gather for a small group discussion during the Sunday education hour (see below). Starting February 7th in the Ministry Center classroom. Join Lisa Batzle as we focus on the Old Testament Tabernacle and Temple - first a tent and then a monumental building built literally as God's "house". We'll study the history and symbolism of them, as well as look at how Jesus related to the Temple and the significance of his "cleansing" of it. Come join us to learn something new! Beginning Sunday February 21st a Centering Prayer Group will meet during the Christian Education hour. The group will be led by Don Krill, a retired D.U. professor. Centering Prayer is similar to meditation, but has a Christian focus and intent. This series of five meetings will be using Keating’s book Open Heart, Open Mind. Contemplative prayer emphasizes quieting the mind, practice of presence of God, and reducing mental fluttering. It is considered to be one of the workings of the Holy Spirit. Come join us!
WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE
The Bible in 90
Days
Starting January
13, Calvary will join
three other Golden
churches in reading
the Bible in 90
days. Small groups
will meet during
Wednesday Night Live
as well as Sunday
mornings during the
Christian Ed hour.
Ask Bethany, Cathy
or Tim if you have
any questions. The
minimum cost is $6
for a participant’s
guide, but if you’d
like you can
purchase a Bible in
90 Days Thinline
Bible that tells you
when to start and
stop each day, for
$10. Otherwise you
can use a Bible that
you already have,
any translation.
The Men’s Life
Group will be
joining the Bible in
90 days this spring.
The Women’s Life
Group will be
joining the Bible in
90 days this spring.
