Children’s Programs
The vision for Children’s Ministries at Calvary is for each child to develop a life-long, personal relationship with God. We want our children to know about Jesus and the Bible, but also to experience God in worship, in community, and in personal relationships. We maintain a safe, welcoming environment where children can explore, ask questions and be creative. In our classrooms children don’t just hear Bible stories, they experience them through play, storytelling, crafts, games and music. Here are just some of the programs available for children:
Sunday School
Christian Education is provided on
Sunday from 10:10-11:00am for children aged 3 years through
senior high. The
2008 school year begins September 7th.
Children learn by doing, therefore, at Calvary children don’t just hear stories, they experience them through play, storytelling, crafts, games and music.
Children’s Liturgy
During sermon time at the 9:00 am service, we offer a special service for children 3 years old through 6th grade where children hear the bible readings and explore them on their own level of understanding.
Nursery
Our nursery is supervised by two qualified child-care professionals. It is available on Sunday for newborns through children 3-1/2 years old, from 8:45am-12:30pm.
Awana
Several Golden churches are teaming
up to provide Awana for children aged 3
years through 6th grade. Awana meets
from 6:30-8:00 pm each Wednesday at the
First Baptist Church, 1805 Washington
Avenue. Many parents who attend
Wednesday Night Live take their children
to Awana and the kids love it! Click on

Awana.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer Calvary offers a
fun-filled curriculum to teach children
about the bible and how Jesus rescues,
protects and comforts us. It’s a week
filled with exciting activities and is
also a great place for children and
adults to develop friendships.
Other Events
Children are an important part of everything we do at Calvary: Outreach projects, Harvest activities, Advent night, Sacred Dance, Pancake Suppers, Seder Dinners, Easter Egg Hunts, and various Summer Fun activities are just a few of the events that draw us into community and make us feel we are part of one big Christian family.k here for a brochure.
